I don't think the Media helps the situation when they try to unearth extreme scenarios essentially for sensational reasons and nothing else. A prime example was a recent interview on local radio where a person said one who couldn't possibly conform to the new statistic of six as one had three daughters and nine grand children but I don't think the opposition helps the situation either when every debate in the Media is see as an opportunity for a Party Political Broadcast. I have some sympathy with the Government when it comes to defending their Pandemic Policy, especially when we now, as a nation, have great difficulty counting up to six and understanding what six actually means. The excellence attached to this year's outstanding 'A' level crop of youngsters must also be difficult to take in because, if one doesn't understand the meaning of a linear figure 6, there is a fat chance of understanding the significance of 9% grade inflation but in all seriousness the Government has been and always will be economical with the truth. Why you may ask? this is because they not only don't know the answers to their own rules and statements, but most if not all of them don't even know they don't know the answers to their own rules and statements. Now that was a mouthful to take in, so there are no prizes when the great British Public are cerebrally challenged by Government Policy.

One of the best albums of the late 70's was 'Rumours' by Fleetwood Mac and one of the most memorable tracks from this album was the famous anthem for Members of Parliament, 'Tell Me Lies Tell Me Sweet Little Lies'. These are, of course, not really lies but comments that are essentially economical with the truth.
